General Objectives
By the end of the course, candidates should be able:
• Know musical notation, terminology, and rhythm; performance techniques; exhibition of musical expressive concepts, and development of auditory skills.
• Demonstrate positive attitude towards music performance through involvement in musical activities
• Promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of pupils/students at school
and in the society; and prepare such pupils/Students for opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of adult life.
• Demonstrate the ability to express ideas and feelings symbolically (music notations) through the medium of sound by using Information Communication Technology (ICT)
• Display awareness of how art, culture, traditions, and values are portrayed through music in societies for the common goal.
• Produce highly disciplined and self-respected music professionals capable of creating employment, promoting harmony and peace in society, and influencing people into discarding all the negative social vices, and above all falling loving God almighty.
• Promote high quality music training and teaching in a friendly and healthy environment at affordable costs.
• Improve and motivate all those who wish to learn the art of music and be able to earn a living from their talents hence creating employment.
• To have a sense and spirit of true patriotism, with well-informed minds, devoted to work, respecting themselves as musicians and others.
